Position Description:  Practice Development Specialist

Overview

As a practice development specialist, you will be tasked with helping to onboard and facilitate the coordination of firm resources and training programs designed to develop career advisors, career sampling advisors, and staff.  A successful practice development specialist will assist users with resolving questions and issues, coordinate resources, and deliver training programs.  The practice development specialist is also responsible for supporting all activities that integrate business technology tools with a goal of practice optimization.  This position works in partnership with the Director of Practice Development.

 

Responsibilities

·       Deliver the Charter Oak onboarding experience and ensure smooth transitions between departments

·       Drive adoption, training, and serve as the primary local contact for Advisor360°, Coverpath, Microsoft 365, and other practice management and technology tools and strategies

·       Partner with the Director of Practice Development to create action plans to identify and address gaps in meeting established firm and advisor goals

o   Support the Director of Practice Development to develop, leverage, and promote firm goals for business technology tools

o   Monitor various metrics to ensure goals are on target

o   Manage resource materials to ensure proper support materials are current and accessible

o   Promptly learn new business technology tools

o   Facilitate advisor introduction to the Design Center

·       Provide level 1-2 technical support in coordination with the Charter Oak tech team

o   Ensure timely completion of training modules

o   Manage and maintain hardware and software within the firm using MassMutual protocols

o   Troubleshoot device problems independently or in coordination with the home office support representatives or independent consultants, maintaining documentation in the firm’s ticketing system

o   Train new users on MassMutual technology tools

·       Contributes to knowledge base articles

·       Some travel required

·       Other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications (Skills, education, training, and licensure)

·       Results-driven, confident, and a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·       Strong organizational skills

·       Ability to effectively deliver multiple priorities with vague or defined timelines

·       Understanding of the sales process

·       Ability to troubleshoot PCs,mobile devices, and conference equipment.

·       Ability to create, interpret, and leverage metrics for determining strategy

·       The ideal candidate will have experience in a financial services field office or with MassMutual

·       College degree or equivalent industry experience.  B.A./B.S. degree in a business discipline preferred

·       Life, accident, health or FINRA licenses are a plus

·       Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365

·       Multilingual in English and Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus
